"It’s rare that I ever use new, clean, perfect steel and materials. Whether it’s the character of used, pitted, nicked, scratched, weathered, bent, worn and mangled steel, or, some old copper pipes, a copper roof shingle, or, an antique barn joist, post or any other old piece of wood, to breathe both life and purpose back into these materials and give them some design, beauty, and purpose again,... honestly, it's quite satisfying and humbling because it tells the age old story of redemption that most any of us can relate to at one level or another.
I don't use water jets, laser cutters, or other modern technology, I personally don't like that look. I prefer handheld tools, they seem to give me a more intimate relationship with the materials I'm working with and have a literal hands-on approach that leads to a more truly handmade one-of-kind look vs. an all too common technology based machined look. I’m constantly trying to reinvent how I approach making visuals, assembling shapes, and creating art, with whatever materials I may have at that particular time.

I created Network Nexus Fox Valley, an open minded and positive group where businesses, nonprofits, and organizations could come together. To launch this group, we had to start out with a bang! Del Shearrow, owner/designer of Artistic Event Rentals, provided not only his services setting up, but provided his Advertising & Marketing Kiosk with HD flat screen and numerous functional art works. Each business attendee was invited to provide a promotional slide that was displayed on a continuous loop throughout the evening. The eye-catching business card holders, the antique 1901 Barn Door Display with it's beautiful flower/tea light sculpture, along with the donut wall on the other side not only created a "Wow Factor" but encouraged meaningful conversations while networking throughout the event. These functional art displays made the event not only unique but involved and artistically showcased those businesses that attended. I attended an event where Del helped decorate with his amazing artwork. He is so creative and his creativity he has to "up-cycle" steel & wood is amazing. If I was planning a wedding I would definitely be hiring him to bring his Artistic Entertainment!
